Obstruction of Base, Indians vs. Mets

Who knew their could be conflict on the field during a T-Ball game! I wanted to take a minute to explain the occurence of events on Saturday during the Mets game! It was the bottom of the last inning and we were ahead! I can't remember the exact score. The Indians had 2 outs...we just needed one more out to win the game! The third out was called on first base by the umpire closest to first base. Then, the other umpire over ruled the call due to obstruction to the base.
There are 2 options to the Obstruction of Base Rule:

Option 1: He can raise both hands, call "DEAD BALL OBSTRUCTION".. at that time the ball is dead, all players stop.. The runner that was obstructed with is awarded one extra base.. and all other runners are awarded one base past the last legal base they touched.
2nd Option: The umpire lets the play finish and all runners advance AT THEIR OWN RISK! After the play is over, time is called, and the obstructed runner is awarded one extra base.
Option 2 is what happened. ... they never stopped play, and Andrew tagged both runners out because they were trying to advance on their own. However, Option 1 is what the umpire went with; therefore making us go back on the field to get another third out, which was really the 5th out by this time. It's all in fun...I just wanted to take a minute to explain a few of the details!

Good News and Bad News!

Good News First!

The Indians won their second game in the tournament Friday night against the A's. Final Score was 13 to 5! All of the boys did really good!

Dylan Mack to the left is a proud member of the Kool-Aid Club.. that's not tribal paint on our little indian....that's a good ole Kool-Aid mustache! I wish you could see the pic better!

Now for the bad news.....

We lost our first game to the Cubs during the third day of the tournament. The Cubs have some really good hitters on their team not to mention an excellent infield. If you follow the all star leauge, you will probably see several of those players representing LPR! We lost 14 to 1. Not only did we lose, but we waited to play our second game of the day against the Diamondbacks, and then it happened...good ole mother nature showed up and showed the Indians and every other team at the ball park who was boss! The rain came therefore, postponing the games to next Saturday, April 25th.

And, the Indians are by no means guilty of doing a rain dance for all of that rain...that loss did not dampen our spirits....we were ready to play ball! Looking forward to the next game tomorrow night, Tuesday April 21st 6:00PM against the A's.

Indians 1st Game!

We started the night off with pictures, then a nice warm up, and then many of the fellas started to play their very first t-ball game! How exciting!!! And then we ended up with a WIN! Final Score was 15-2.

We all had a blast! Thanks to the parents and grandparents for their support! We play again tonight, April 17th 8PM. Please be at the park for 7:30PM. If we win Friday night, then we'll play Saturday at noon. If we lose, then we'll play Saturday at 10AM.

Emmett and Dylan G in the dug out before the game!

Kalem made sure he had the first spot in the dug out before the game! He had his helmet on way before the game even started!

Kalem was ready for his first game!

Coach Jay with his son Andrew during warm up!

One final note, in case some of you don't know. There is a 7 run limit per inning for each team, so if you see that we switch sides before 3 outs...that is why!

And, these pics came from my camera, not the best camera out there! Should have some better ones to post soon from the good cameras!

Picture Info!

Good News! I have the hats in hand and I also have smaller pants for Karson and Logan! We had a very good practice yesterday, we are looking forward to the first game! Can't wait to see the little guys in their uniforms!

I passed out picture order forms yesterday, please have that filled out prior to picture time. They move fast in there! Our picture time is 4:45 on Thursday, April 16th. I realize that might be early for some....if you can't get there by 4:45 that's okay. I'm hoping a few will be able to. They want everyone to be done with their individual pictures by 5:15 and then we'll be doing a group picture with the coaches at 5:20. Game time is 6:00PM

Derek will be there for 4:45 with the hats! Make sure you get the hat that corresponds with your number on the back of your shirt. Now, you say, where do I go for pictures? They told us in the field house....go to the concession stand and take a left down that lane....you should see the field house. If no one is there, try above the concession stand...that's where they had them last year.

I didn't get a chance to take any pictures during practice, but I did have this one from the first practice! For those of you still learning the players, that's Abedn and Wyatt who happen to be cousins!

Welcome to the Blog for The Indians! T-Ball Team with LPR

We will be posting information and pictures in reference to the Livingston parks T-Ball Team.... The Indians! If you have pictures that you want posted, please e-mail them to Delana and they will be posted.

We're looking forward to a fun season, and as my husband said during the first practice...we want all of the kids to learn and have fun! As long as the kids have fun, then we have won every game! The kids will no way be punished for not performing, but we do ask that you have conversations with your children in regards to listening to the coaches and paying attention during the games!

My husband Derek Morgan is the head coach and our son is Wyatt. The Assistant Coach is Jay Yuratich who happens to be my brother! And, his son is Andrew. If you have any questions or comments, please see either of them.... Derek or Jay....or you can always call or e-mail me!

We do have practice today, April 13th at 6:00 PM. Same place where we had our very first practice. Bring something to sit on! No BLEACHERS over there. I will be distributing the uniforms during this practice. Our first game has been moved to Thursday, April 16th 6:00PM Field A. We are trying to get team pictures scheduled for some time this week. We will be in touch about that. I will have picture order forms today at practice.

I am posting a few pictures from the very first practice! You will eventually see pictures of all of your little guys on here! Thanks to Keri Morgan... Barrett's Mom for the photos! If you don't want your child's picture posted, just let me know.
